Biscayne National Underwater Park
Biscayne National Underwater Park at Biscayne National Park is a subtropical place where mangroves, a warm bay, islands and keys intermingle with living coral reefs. This is a vast almost pristine wilderness, consisting of 170,000 acres designated as a National Park which is to protect a rare combination of terrestrial and undersea life. Brilliant colorful tropical fish and other curious creatures populate the reefs. Their appearances and behavior are as exotic as their names, stoplight parrotfish, finger garlic sponge, and goosehead scorpionfish, to name a few.
Glass Bottom Boat Tour: Boat departs at 10:00 am daily, duration approx 3 hours. Sea turtles, dolphins and tropical fish are just a few of the surprises you might see. Snorkeling: Includes mask, fins, snorkel,& vest. Trip departs at
1:15 pm daily and time in water is approx 1 hour. Total trip duration is
approximately 3 hours and includes orientation by Park Ranger. SCUBA diving (two tank dive): Operates Saturday and Sunday only Trip departs at 8:30 am and is approximately 4 1/2 hours. Note: Reservations required. On arrival, proceed to the Gift Shop. Due to weather, ocean conditions or minimum numbers, trips might not operate. Picnic facilities are available; sandwiches, snacks and drinks also available at concession stand.
