To those who can’t bear to travel without constant access to their laptop and BlackBerry, Orlando may be the perfect place to visit. Forbes’ list of lists Orlando as #2 (after Atlanta, Georgia). The city ranked high for the number of companies providing high-speed internet access and its high rate of broadband adoption. If that doesn’t give you enough reason to visit Orlando, then maybe the warm weather and fun activities will do the trick.

For those needing transportation from OIA to your final destination, here’s a chart of approximate rates (at the bottom of the page.)
A word of advice: There are multiple brands of hotels with multiple locations, so be sure to have the exact address of your hotel so you don’t get taken for a “ride.”
Here are some handy and reputable taxi cab numbers:
Ace Metro/Luxury Cab: 407-855-1111
Diamond Cab Company: 407-523-3333
Star Taxi: 407-857-9999
Town and Country Transport: 407-828-3035
Yellow/City Cab: 407-422-2222
Taxis may carry up to 9 passengers, and charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers.
Buses are located on the A-side of the Main Terminal, on the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1), at Commercial Lane spaces A38-A41.
Travel time to downtown is approximately 40 minutes, and to International Drive approximately 60 minutes, at a cost of $1.75 for either destination. Additional connecting service to shopping and residential areas also available.

Photography on the Beach Photo uploaded by Creap
Want to show off some truly great pictures to your friends and family when you return from your latest vacation? The gals over at GoGirlfriend recently posted a quick guide for making the most out of your photography efforts.
Since I’m taking a photography class right now, this article is a great read. It’s also easy to understand, pinpointing ways that everyone can make their vacation photos more interesting, not just photographers who know all that camera lingo.
My favorite tips from the article are “Get Clicking,” because, like everything else, practice makes perfect! When you own a digital camera, there’s no reason to edit until you get home and look at them on the big screen.I’m sure that out of every 20 photos lies a truly wonderful one and you won’t know unless you keep your finger clicking.
I also enjoy “Get Funky,” which encourages all of us to be unique. Everyone’s got pictures of the beach, but how can you make yours special? Use light, crazy angles, and focus to make it your very own creation.

Photo of Celebration, Florida uploaded by
No, you’re not on a movie set, people actually live here. It’s set in an unlikely place just off of Highway 192- “tourist central.” This town of 10,000 is simply beautiful from its multi million dollar homes to high end condos, a town center boasting numerous shops, restaurants and a hotel and multiple businesses ranging from banks, to realtors to Radio Disney.
Celebration reminds us a little of the neighborhood in Desperate Housewives. Many Disney executives live here as the north entrance to the town is near Magic Kingdom allowing residents to drive to work without having to use any busy roads.
Celebration is a planned community created by a real estate division of The Walt Disney Company. Disney has divested most of its control of the town but the Disney like feel continues with annual car shows, Fourth of July fireworks, Snowfall Nightly during the holidays and plenty of other street festivals in the town center.
The town also has one of the area’s best golf courses in Celebration Golf Clun designed by Robert Trent Jones. NEV (electric) cars are also permitting allowing the residents to shop, dine and get around town with ease. Like I said, you’ve got to see this place.

Now is the season for list making to mark the end of the year. Children everywhere are hard at work on their wish lists for Santa. The New York Times recently published its list of .
There are plenty of travel-related lists floating around the blogosphere, too. Here are a couple of my faves…
Frommer’s includes some exotic locales like Tokyo and Zurich and a few home grown gems like Portland, Maine and Asheville, North Carolina.
IgoUgo’s is a virtual who’s who of travel blogging. I read several of the blogs listed daily, but a few of them were new discoveries that I’ll add to my bookmarks.
Times Online’s is neatly arranged by networking, multimedia, and so on.
Travel + Leisure’s lists the world’s best hotels, spas, cruises, and more.
Lonely Planet’s offers some offbeat suggestions for the adventurous explorer.
