February 17, 2008 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Daytona 500, the world’s most famous stock car race. With great food, tons of excitement, and camping grounds to spend the night on site, it’s sure to be a great time.

Before the race, you can stock up on your racing knowledge at the Orlando Science Center where the Daytona 500 “Speedway Science” exhibit has been extended into late January. See actual race cars as you learn about the aerodynamics of design and the science of speed.

You can also check out Daytona USA: The Official Attraction of NASCAR with the Go Orlando Card. There’s the NASCAR 3-D IMAX experience, motion simulators, and Ford’s 16-Second Pit Stop Challenge.

Speed demons of all ages will have a great time at both at the Daytona 500 and getting prepared for the excitement at the Orlando Science Center and Daytona USA. Travelers, start your engines!
