Included
Entry with the Go Orlando Card
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933), the scope of which includes Tiffany jewelry, pottery, paintings, art glass, leaded-glass windows, lamps, and the chapel interior he designed for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. In its galleries, the museum also features a major collection of American art pottery and representative collections of late-19th and early-20th century American painting, graphics, and decorative art.
The Morse was founded by Jeannette Genius McKean (1909–1989) in 1942 and named for her industrialist grandfather. Its collections were built over a half-century by Mrs. McKean and her husband, Hugh F. McKean (1908–1995), who served as the museum’s director until his death.
